Unless you’re a certified technician, I wouldn”t attempt fixing your 360 yourself. If you moded your 360, than I guess the balls in your court.Doing negative things can bring you negative results!
If you have no warranty, and don’t want to spend the money on a (unofficial) repairman, then it’s time you just got your hands dirty and try and fix it yourself. I wouldn’t trust the PDF file that you have to buy from that site, but that’s just me. There are guides to help you fix it in quite a few places on the web. Most people have been able to fix it in about an hour, just make sure you have all the materials needed before you begin. (I can’t stress this enough. It’s better to fix it when you have memory of what goes where when re-assembling) You first need to find the exact 4 digit code of the 3 red lights. To do this, do as listed below.
Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.
Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.
You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.
Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:
All four lights flashing - 0
One light flashing - 1
Two Lights flashing - 2
Three lights flashing - 3
The most common code that can be addressed is “0102″.(or 0103, 0110) This is the problem that has the GPU not making good contact with the mainboard due to overheating. There are guides on how to best fix it using 1 of 2 methods. I’d recommend the first as it’s easier.
or
If it’s a different error code altogether, well it may be out of your league to fix unless you’re a serious modder. Other error codes and a few solutions can be explained at link below.
It really does suck to have broken modded 360. The people at Xbox-scene are great with questions, but make sure to dive into the forums and look for the answer first. Best of luck to you!
It’s not that hard to fix it if you have experience with building computers and stuff like that. I’ve been doing it for a couple months and have done about 10 of them. All of which are still working. If you happen to be in the Southern CA area, send me an email. I’ll give you a good deal and make sure that it works.
